From Mr. Joy's mom...

A few people have expressed concern about some of Mr. Joy's photos, especially the comfort of his costumes and stress level during his photo sessions.

Mr. Joy spends a total of about  5-10 minutes in front the camera during any day we shoot. This is broken up into about four to five quick sessions. Because we shoot digital images, we can walk in to the next room and check to see if we have a keeper.  Mr. Joy has a snack on my desk while we review the images, set lights, etc.  He is "in costume" for only a fraction of his on camera time. You can read "Mr. Joy's story" to better understand the bond I have with him. During his months of nursing care, when I tended to his ravaged feet, I learned to interpet his clucks & coos and know when he's happy or stressed. Any time he becomes stressed, we quit for the day and snuggle up on the sofa to watch tv.
